Through an Instagram post, Lydia’s Castle, Wysocki’s current band, confirmed the sad news.
On 5/18/2024 at 8:02 pm, @jonwysocki4 passed away surrounded by family and friends that loved him dearly.
Before his passing, on May 18, Shawna Hornbeck, a member of Lydia’s Castle, confirmed that Wysocki was in the ICU due to “issues with his liver that require him to be under the attention of medical professionals to ensure that he is treated properly. While he has been struggling, there are signs that he is recovering slowly.” But up to this date, no cause of death has been released.
Born on January 17, 1971, in Westfield, Massachusetts, Jon Wysocki is best known as the former drummer of the American rock band Staind. He was one of the founding members of the band, along with Aaron Lewis, Mike Mushok, and Johnny April. Staind gained significant success in the late 1990s and early 2000s with hits like “It’s Been Awhile” and “Outside.”
Wysocki’s drumming style was a key element of Staind’s sound, characterized by its blend of alternative metal, post-grunge, and nu-metal influences. His solid rhythms and dynamic playing contributed to the band’s distinctive sound.
Despite being an integral part of Staind for many years, Wysocki left the band in 2011 due to conflict with their singer Aaron Lewis. Since then, he has been involved in various projects, including collaborating with other musicians and pursuing his musical endeavors.
