Young Farro

Zac Farro was born on June 4, 1990, in Voorhees Township, New Jersey. He was around 9 years old when he began playing drums, and eleven years old when he played on his first drum kit.

 

Career

In 2004 in Franklin, Tennessee, Zac, along with his older brother Josh Farro, formed the band Paramore. The original lineup included Hayley Williams on keyboards and lead vocals, Jeremy Davis on bass guitar, Josh Farro on lead guitar and backing vocals, and Zac Farro on drums.

Zac was the band’s drummer from its inception. He played on the band’s first three studio albums: All We Know Is Falling (2005), Riot! (2007), and Brand New Eyes (2009). During this time, Paramore gained significant popularity and critical acclaim.

In December 2010, both Zac and Josh Farro left Paramore. Their departure was public and somewhat contentious, with the brothers citing differences in musical direction and other internal band issues.

Zac rejoined Paramore in 2017, reuniting with lead vocalist Hayley Williams and guitarist Taylor York. He contributed to the band’s fifth studio album, After Laughter (2017), which marked a shift towards a more new wave and synth-pop sound.

Outside of Paramore, Zac Farro has also pursued other musical projects. He has his own band called HalfNoise, which he formed in 2010. With HalfNoise, Zac explores a more indie rock and psychedelic pop sound, showcasing his talents as a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist.
