The French pop group Gold consists of Lucien Crémadès (lead guitar, backing vocals), Bernard Mazauric (keyboards, backing vocals), Étienne Salvador (drums) and David Bouad (bass, vocals). They emerged from anonymity in 1985 with his first hit, Plus Près Des Étoiles. They repeatedly reached the top 10 for singles sales in the 80s.
In July 1985, Plus Près Des Étoiles entered the Top 50, it remained ranked there for 24 weeks, reaching No. 2 in the rankings three times.
