Bass Drum WarmUp #2

Exercise 2 — Kick Drum 16th-Note Double Groove

This one is a 4/4 groove that’s perfect for warming up your foot: the snare hits the backbeat on 2 and 4, while the kick drum plays 16th-note doubles (two quick strokes) on beats 1 and 3. The hands keep a steady hi-hat pattern, so you can focus on making the two kick notes clean, even, and perfectly in time without losing the groove.

🎯 Goal: get a tight, well-placed kick double, with consistent sound and balance between the two strokes, while keeping the groove solid.

✅ Tip: start very slow (around 50 BPM), stay relaxed, then increase the tempo gradually. Once it’s clean, work on stability (same timing, same volume) before pushing speed.
