In 1973 in the United States, the rock group Journey was born with its founding members Neal Schon on lead guitar, Gregg Rolie on keyboards and vocals, bassist Ross Valory and rhythm guitarist George Tickner and finally Prairie Prince on drums who was quickly replaced by British drummer Aynsley Dunbar who had recently worked with John Lennon and Frank Zappa.
In 1975 the band released their first self-titled album. 1977 was the arrival of Steve Perry and the group finally met its audience and success with the hits Don’t Stop Believing’. In 1978, American Jazz musician Steve Smith was added to the drums with Journey.
